We just arrived home this afternoon with Alexander. He's doing well but somewhat uncomfortable...as we all would feel. The doctor was very happy with the procedure and was very positive with his outlook.
Waiting in the outpatient surgical room at Hopkins always gives me a taste of humble pie. Hearing loss seems like a small fight compared to the battles the other children in the recovery room are faced against. My heart was touched today by a brave little girl with beautiful big brown eyes. Looking into her eyes was a moment into her soul.
As for our family, if we can get through the next few days without any issues we'll be back to "normal."
Calm and ready for surgery at 6:00am.

Glad it went well! I'm curious about recovery. Mari's surgery is October 20. I have no idea how long she'll have to stay home from school afterwards. Hopefully not long!
Praying for a speedy recovery for Alexander... I wish we could get Lucas a 2nd one too.... when's activation?
So glad to hear it went well!! We had the same experience in the Hopkin's waiting room ... makes me count my life's blessings that much more. Can't wait to hear about activation day!
I have been following your blog and am so happy for you and your family! What a blessing modern science is! Our little Evan is 11 months old and will be bilaterally activated next week! I will continue to pray for Alexander! I can't wait to follow his progress! Congrats on number two :)
